Week 7 Packing!

Updating again :) Hard to keep it all updated!

Our theme this week is Packing, pups are packing up their favorite toys and preparing to go on their journey to their new homes next week.  And as a side note, rawhide is ONLY for the photo shoot, we threw it away immediately following.  Rawhide should be avoided, it’s a major problem for choking as well as blockage in the intestines. In addition, how they make rawhide and the chemicals they use… well.  Try antlers.  If pup is being supervised bully sticks are good, too.  And just as a rule of thumb, never leave pup alone with something you’ve not observed them with in the past, I’ve known of a few very tragic endings to that same story.  So, avoid rawhide and supervise! My sermon is complete hehe :)

Weekly photo shoot was a huge affair today, it started with a nice romp in the yard and then finally moved inside. I shot over 600 photos…. my back and Robin’s knee may never be the same again!  But, hopefully you enjoy the photos!  Pups are doing great!! They are all so smart, bold and very sweet.  Tenacious is also a word I’d use.  Tonight a frog was loudly croaking, it was fun to see how they reacted.  Green, Red and Blue were the first to explore and see if they could figure it out then the rest came on out to see, too.  Nothing to see, just a new sound.  I enjoyed seeing them experience it and consider how to react.  No one was scared, just varying degrees of caution but all curious and willing to check it out.  Really nice pups, we are growing prouder of them by the day!

The bird wing has come out this past week to start seeing who is the most naturally inclined and get them started.  We played with just a few pups with the wing so I could get some photos.  So you’ll see Green on point, Blue in full attack mode and Orange was stalking.  Everyone’s has a turn, and everyone is definitely interested. We have good prey drive in the litter!

Week 6 Gambling ... again :)

We decided to re-do the Gambling photo theme one more time since it’s such a fun theme for the litter and the litter them, also we found GIANT dice! How cool is that?  Some of the pups enjoyed the photo shoot more than others… Ali came in and checked on Blue boy, and you’ll notice Black boy was being a might difficult today, he was as Robin said, “Spring Loaded” put him down and as soon as the hands loosened up he BOUNCED outta there!  You’ll see Yellow awaiting her turn for photos.  Also, poor Red has a chomp mark on his snoot, someone’s sharp tooth got him. And finally Pink’s stink eye at Robin! TOO FUNNY!! We had a good laugh at all of them, and had another busy but fun photo shoot.  I hope you enjoy the photos!  Give me a few minutes and check the blog I have a video I’ll post when I can.  It’s of the puppy party in the living room, Ali finally feels safe joining in for a play again (now that they’ve mostly given up trying to nurse with their sharp, little chompers) and it’s super cute!

They continue to learn about potty-training which is a continuous work in progress, but they are doing well! They’ve been learning about the word “No.” as well as a lot of handling and lots of socialization.  Learning to sit-wait is also happening, which the are getting with repetition…. and with the attention span of a gnat, they are actually doing quite well!

Over all they are doing great and we are just thrilled with all their happy, outgoing personalities, not a wall flower to be seen!
