Not much to report...

I'm sure you're all like me... waiting and watching the pot to boil! It's a little stressful, as it's still on the early side but she's starting to give signs of early labor (this can last days... Or hours..) ... So, it's really worrisome, hoping she's holding them in but knowing it's coming and could come anytime. Well, it's long nights when she moves, I'm awake. And I'm still working for another day... So I'm glued to my security cameras as much as possible checking. 

Meanwhile Robin and Gary have their trip at their beach place for the last time till pups go home. Hoping they are having fun :)

Story's pups are very active now. If you poke them, they poke you back! But stor prefers if you do NOT poke them, so I didn't do that here. Lots of movement in pretty sure you can see about 4 separate pups moving here :)

Story - Week 8

I think this photo says it all. First photo is Story just after being bred and then Story 8 "long" weeks later. My poor dog. Say a little prayer that she can grit it out a few more days. It would be bad news if the pups came before Sunday. So think "Tuesday" thoughts for us! She's utterly miserable and hanging in there, snorting and snuffling, but still so happy to see her little butt wagging makes me both happy and feel awful. This is really hard on her and I hate to see her so miserable. So good thoughts for us please :)

Stor says, "What was I thinking?! I'm about a week out and have no where to have these pups!" So we have begun excavating her dens. She liked one from last time, and this other one is a new spot.... good times. What causes them to dig is the beginning of Braxton Hicks, slight contractions that sends out hormones and so she feels the need to dig. I let her do this (though it's not great for the garden!) because it's a biological need and it helps her to feel more relaxed. We shouldn't actually have any pups in there, when the time comes they are quite happy to settle in their whelping box :)

Poor Story.

Poor Story ... She is one miserable girl. She has reached the stage she cannot get comfortable and is up and down all night trying to find a position to sleep. Pups are active and you can tell when they get annoying, she kicks her legs in irritation. I can feel them and even see them moving around. Will video when it gets more noticeable. In the meantime here she is... Existing and trying to get a nap in. Wish I could, I'm exhausted, she's already keeping me up at night as she's moving around and mama instinct kicks in and wakes me up to ensure she's ok.

Ali - Week 4

Well, tomorrow is the big day, so check back tomorrow afternoon on results of the Ultrasound and keep your fingers crossed!

Story - Week 7

Here we are on gb's countdown, 2 weeks before B-day :)

Stor is being a trooper. She's pretty enormous and waddling around. Hot all the time, uncomfortable and generally counting the days. But she's her normal happy self. She can't sleep in her crate anymore, she's too uncomfortable. So she keeps me up most of the night rearranging herself on the bed trying to find a comfortable position and to stay cool (for those of you not in the Pacific Northwest, it's been a bizarre hot streak of 80+ degree weather for days.. Not awesome for late term pregnancy.) ... Eating 4 meals a day and trying to fend off her crazy puppy.  We've decreased walk length and slowed them down and stop under trees for breaks, but she's still very excited to go for her walks :)

Beautiful weather

Gorgeous weather! After a long day at work, we got out for a stroll. Story got entirely too hot, she says it's harder to cool down than it used to be, but had a blast. She's getting pretty big!! In about 2 weeks I'll be anxiously watching the "pot to boil" :) She shouldn't be due until the 5th but as big as she's getting, I'm starting to prepare for her possibly going early. We don't want it too early tho.... So ideally if she could wait till the 3rd or 4th... That would be much better than the 1st or 2nd of May. Send your best, "Bake them baby" vibes our way :)

Ali - Week 3

Miss Ali is doing well... very sleepy and has starred in a few food heists. Including eating Robin's sandwich in 2 bites before Robin could react.... we are crossing our fingers this is a good sign :)

Early Story week 6 :)

Week 6 should be tomorrow, but I got some photos tonight and thought I'd share :) She's looking bigger by the day. And man, is she hungry!! 3 weeks to go!

And Lhotse... My little frisbee hound. 

And more whelping box time, she jumped in, dug around then Lho got in and laid down.... I'm thinking she must have thought it shrunk from when she was in there last (at 3 weeks old :)

Quick Vid

Here's a quick video of my dog family last night after we had a big play time and it had settled down enough I could get some video. Usually Story is a big frisbee player, too. But in the last 10 days or so she's lost interest, which is pretty common as they start to self limit activity as they protect their puppies :) So Lhotse is picking up the slack. She'd been playing for awhile, when she wants a break she drops it away from me and stands on it!

Story a little needy

I sat down on the sofa tonight. Story was right up next to me. Shoving her muzzle against my face... rubbing on me, demanding kisses. ❤️ See why I want to keep her knocked up? :) she's always sweet, but this is a new level even for her!

Ali Week 2

Ali is pretty sleepy, and wanders around looking for places to crash. We will know on the 25th if we have babies baking. Right about now the babies are "blastocytes" and should have just implanted in her uterus... Keep those fingers crossed :)

Story - Week 5!

Here we are... Week 5 for Story! She's doing well, enjoying additional food! She's always very sweet but when dogs reach this stage of pregnancy, I wish they would stay like this permanently. They are made of pure sweetness. Less sleepy, super happy.. They have The Glow :)

If you're hoping for a specific sex, now is the time to send those thoughts over! This week the develop their sex organs :)

Right now she's getting rounder, you'll notice less tuck-up at her waist, yes, but in person you see how round she is out at the ribs and wide. She's turning into a barrel with legs :)

In the meantime Daddy Dog, Logan was neutered yesterday. He's doing ok, but pretty sore. He'll be 9 in a few months so it was time. When I found out Story was pregnant, we made the call to neuter him. It's been a long few days! 

Lhotse isn't one to be left out of a photo op :)

Story 4.5 weeks

Here is her kid, Lhotse having a wonderful time playing frisbee.... You can tell when she's tired. She stands just out of reach panting and drops the frisbee :)

Ali - Week 1

Here we are at Week 1 for Ali. Not much to report, she's out of season and resting a lot. Right now there are hopefully little blastocytes in there getting ready to implant next week ... She's sleepy and resting a lot, which is a normal part of a bitch in season.  Send those little blastocytes lots of love for their big adventure this week :))
